1. Halve the avocado, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh from the skin.

2. Mash the avocado flesh with a fork and season with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice.

3. Wash and slice the tomatoes.

4. Toast the bread and rub it with a clove of crushed garlic.

5. Spread a generous amount of the mashed avocado onto the toasted bread slices.
